"He who breathes most air
lives most life."

-- Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Weight Loss

I have seen hundreds of people start a daily breathing routine and lose weight. The danger is that they may be doing a breathing exercise that actually locks up the breathing so that the long term effect can be harmful. There are many at least temporarily effective programs in the world. Some work well, others not at all.

People who need to lose weight don't take in enough oxygen. If you eat devitalized, cooked, excessively fatty foods and have inadequate breathing you are not ridding yourself of toxins properly nor can you burn the fuel you consume, regardless of its possible low fat content. The lack of adequate oxygen and low metabolism will add pounds with practically anything you eat.

Providing one's food intake is mostly simple carbohydrates (live fruits and vegetables), the human body is designed to discharge approximately 70 percent of its waste products through breathing, in the form of carbon dioxide. Only a small percentage of toxins should be discharged through sweat, defecation, and urination.

In addition, if your breathing is not releasing toxins, other systems of your body, such as your kidneys and liver must work overtime. These toxins can also clog up your breathing system and compromise your general body functioning by diverting your oxygen supply to rid the body of something that another function should have done in the first place. This can set the stage for a number of illnesses, including of course, obesity. Overweight people have restricted breathing.

Lack of or improper exercise invites breathing function to atrophy/weaken. Physical exercise, though most often quite helpful, can help or harm breathing depending on your body type, conditioning, intensity of exercise, and the way you breathe. It is most effective to learn to breathe and then exercise instead of exercising and breathing as a result of the exercise. Trying to make an inefficient unbalanced breathing system just work harder only stresses and locks up the entire breathing system. Learn to breathe better and your chances of enjoying exercise will greatly increase.

There are weight loss videos available that use breath-holding techniques. Most of the ones I have seen are average to harmful to long-term lethal. To learn more about this, don't miss Valsalva's maneuver.

Firstly one must develop one's breathing. I recommend my #176 Rapidly Improving Your Breathing Video for that. #130 Better Breathing Exercise #2 is next as it gives one a great deal of energy without having to get out of bed.

When you breathe better you feel more like exercising and just the Better Breathing Exercise #2 by itself can make you lose weight because it can kick start your metabolism.

FOOD Variety may not be the spice of life when trying to lose weight. In fact, eating a limited variety at mealtime may be a good way to control weight, according to a new University of Buffalo study. It seems the variety in our diets keeps us from tiring of the taste of the food. This decreases the feeling of satiation or fullness, so humans and animals are more likely to overeat when they can taste different foods. When people eat one food, satiation is reached more quickly and, therefore, overeating is less likely.

I've created a three-level #320 Weight Loss Program that is holistic. Each part has caused loss of weight. Doing ALL parts greatly increases your success.
